Dear Moose,

COME ONE, COME ALL TO THE PTO's SOUP AND GAMES NIGHT TONIGHT AT SES at 5:30! Come and escape the chilly winter evening with some warmth, soup and fun games. We hope to see you there! You can sign up to bring a soup, bread or dessert by clicking on the following link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054fafa82e5-sessoup .

On January 31st Amherst Superintendent Michael Morris, Middle School Principals Rebecca Sweetman and John Smith and Acting High School Principal Miki Gromacki will be in the Shutesbury Elementary School Library at 6:30 pm to talk to any SES family about the Middle and High school. All families are welcome to attend to hear more about the programs and offerings in those schools.

Last night I had the fun experience to see SES Alumni Shae Thomas-Paquin, Forrest Carvalho and Arin Andrews as well as current SES student Irina Andrews in Amherst Leisure Services production of Peter Pan at Bowker Auditorium at UMASS. They did a fabulous job transporting the audience to Neverland! Congratulations!

Enjoy the weekend!

Jackie

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***

OLIVIA FROM 3rd GRADE!

OR

JCB:  What is your favorite thing about school?
OR:  Art.  I like to make clay animals.

JCB:  What are you reading right now?
OR:  I’m reading sort of like a graphic novel with a kid - Ready for Take Off.

JCB:  What do you like to do outside?
OR:  Play fashion cops.  You get some nature stuff and you have a normal dress and then you would put leaves and all sorts of things and pretend that your fashion.

JCB:  What would you like to be when you grow up?
OR:  A veterinarian.

JCB:  What is your favorite food?
OR:  Macaroni and cheese or tacos!

JCB:  What is your favorite thing to do at home?
OR:  Watching TV.  My favorite TV show is “Bondi Vet.”

JCB:  If you could be any animal, what animal would you be and why?
OR:  Probably a little chihuahua or Arctic fox.  A chihuahua is cute and I saw a movie about a chihuahua and she was a chihuahua warrior.  Or an Arctic fox because they’re white and fluffy and they live in cold areas like me.

On Friday, January 11 Mark Olszewski is cooking a community dinner at the Shutesbury Athletic Club. It is a fund raiser for the Masonic Angel Fund. The Fund provides modest assistance to children in need who do not fit the criteria for the usual social-service programs. Dinner is three types of breaded pork cutlets--apple, roasted tomato, or garlic; along with roasted potatoes and brussels sprouts, salad, and dessert. There will be a squash soup for a vegetarian option.  Many Shutesbury children directly benefit from the Angel Fund!  Any and all support would be appreciated!
