Dear Moose,

We had a fabulous first week of fall! It was truly wonderful to see students and families at our Open House on Wednesday. The hallways and classrooms were buzzing with fun and excited energy. It was wonderful to hear from the various committee members and to share some SES trivia and a story. Thank you for attending!

A BIG THANK YOU to the PTO, particularly to Carrie Hawkins, for their facilitation of the mum sale! Many families and community members ordered mums. They were big and beautiful plants! I have been informed that the PTO raised over $500 with this fundraiser. Thank you to all who participated and organized!

Our Moose on the Move Club continues to be a big hit! Over 40 students are participating in our afternoon or morning sessions of running and walking on our track! It is a fabulous time! Thank you to Jessica Carlson-Belanger, Nurse Katie, Jan Tyner, Steven Carra and others for constantly supporting this activity.

One of my favorite books growing up was Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery. As we head into the next month, I am reminded of a particular quotation from the book. " I am so glad to live in a world where there are Octobers". It is very true! Let us enjoy crisp fall air, beautiful changing leaves and delicious autumn harvest food.

Have a great weekend,

Jackie

***MOOSE ON THE MOVE NEWS***

Our new Moose on the Move session is off to a great start!  We’ve been meeting on Monday afternoons from 3:10-4:00 and Wednesday mornings from 8:00-8:30. The kids also “rack” up moose laps during PE and recess or extra outdoor time during the day.  We will regularly post the kids’ personal milestones in the front hallway, in the Roadtown News, and they will be recognized at assembly.  These children will be recognized at the next assembly for hitting personal milestones:
