Dear SES “Moose” Community,

It felt wonderful to get back into our school routines this week. Students and families enjoyed our delightful spring Book Fair. Special thanks go to Ms. Lobenstine for organizing such a fun event! We also welcomed many students and families into classrooms as we completed our first of two weeks of family/teacher/student conferences. Grades 3 and 4 went on an exciting field trip to the Pioneer Valley Symphony, facilitated by our strings teacher, Tyson Peele!

Next week is the last week of school before vacation. We will have two 1:00pm dismissals:  on TUESDAY (April 14th) and WEDNESDAY (April 15th) due to family conferences. Next Thursday, April 16th, Kindergarten, First and Second grade will have a field trip to the Quabbin!

This is a request (or plea!) to PLEASE take our SES School Survey that has been created by the School Council. It should only take about 10 minutes of your time. We will have computers available for families before and after conferences next week to take the survey. Below, you will find the link. You can take this at home, at work or at SES. We are really interested in the feedback from our School Community in many aspects of our school. Here’s the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SES_School_Council2015

Have a fabulous weekend,

Jackie Mendonsa

RUN FOR SHUTESBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE!

Would you like to know more about your child’s education?  Are you willing to be a stakeholder?  The Shutesbury School Committee would like you to serve.   The school committee reviews the school budget, serves as a liaison between parents, residents and the school administration and is in charge of school policies and goals.

There is an open position on the SSC.  At this point, the candidate would have to be written in on the ballot at Town Meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2015.  If you would like to run, please inform the Town Clerk and advise the school committee as well.
