Dear Moose,

Happy New Year! I really think that all of the students grew an inch or two over break. It always amazes me to see the transformation of students in January. They seem settled, comfortable and ready to learn. I have heard of several trips, fun events and relaxing that families were able to do over the break. We're happy to have everyone back at SES.

Monday will be the 80th day of the school year. 100 days left to go! Coming up in January:

  • January 9th- Safety Committee Meeting
  • January 10th- School Council Meeting 3:30-4:30
  • January 16th- No School in observance of MLK day
  • January 19th- School Committee Meeting

Remember, we have students play outside unless it is below 12 degrees with wind chill taken into account. Please send students with appropriate waterproof boots, snow pants and gloves. All students must wear a coat and hat to attend recess outside.

Happy 2017,

Jackie

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***

David from 3rd Grade!

DH

JCB:  What is your favorite thing to do at school?
DH:  I used to hate gym but now I love gym.  But I also like playing video games on the computer.  I’m a video game person.

JCB:  What do you like to do in your spare time at home?
DH:  Go outside.  I go in the woods.  I like to pretend to survive.  I build wood huts.

JCB:  If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
DH:  Sushi.

JCB:  What do you think you’d like to be when you grow up?
DH:  I have a lot of things.  I have like 10 things.  I wanna be a farmer, an electrician, and I want to own a farm thing with a lot of land and I want it reserved for clean water and animals that are almost extinct or endangered.  I also want to be an inventor.  I also want to be a scientist and a lot more things but I don’t think we can fit it on there.

JCB:  If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?
DH:  I’d probably make the world better by ….um, make more reserves for animals, make sure everyone is wealthy.  I don’t want any more people out in the woods who are poor and can’t do anything.  Like people out on the streets holding signs for money.  I think that’s bad.  I would make animals be treated more like people.
