Dear Moose Families
We are winding down the week with a glimpse into some wintery weather. We have postponed Family Folk Dance night, and we hope to reschedule for December! Thank you to Hannah for organizing this fun event!! We will still be holding our Thanksgiving Fun Run tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10-11am.
Next week, we only attend school on Monday and Tuesday. Students and staff have Wednesday off to begin our Thanksgiving Recess.
As always, I want to thank the students, families, staff, and townspeople within our school community for their constant support, kindness and generosity to children of Shutesbury. The school continues to be a great place of growth, compassion, learning, joy and kindness. I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am incredibly grateful for your willingness to continue to work together to provide our children an incredible education.
With gratitude,
Jackie
Hello! The art studio is in need of the following materials:
-LARGE cardboard (like from large appliance boxes)
-cereal boxes
That's it for now!
... but if you happen to have art supplies that you don't use or interesting materials just laying around your house, I am happy to take it for the classroom.
Thanks!
Beth
***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***
EZRAH FROM 5th GRADE!
JCB: What is your favorite thing about school?
EG: I kind of like, I think I like math and I also really like science. Right now we’re doing a science project and it’s basically a project called Lives of Scientist. So you get a scientist and you research about your scientist and you research about what your scientist is studying and you get to interview them.
JCB: Who is your scientist?
EG: They’re my friend. My scientist is Klaus Nusslein (microbiologist at UMass).
JCB: What book are you reading right now?
EG: I’m about to start a new one but right now I’m reading Pele the Soccer King. I’m about to start Waylon: One Awesome Thing.
JCB: What is your favorite food to eat?
EG: I don’t really have a favorite to eat. I like asparagus.
JCB: What is your favorite thing to do at home?
EG: Jumping on the trampoline, reading books, playing pool, sliding down the fire pole in our barn.
JCB: What do you like to do outside?
EG: I sometimes just like to go on walks. When I’m in the Adirondacks I go on hikes. We go down to the waterfall in the Adirondacks. It’s 50 feet off our land.
JCB: If you could be any animal, what animal would you be and why?
EG: I would be a red fox because they’re very sly and they don’t have a lot of predators and they do have a lot of prey.
