LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, 11:00AM DISMISSAL

Hello SES Moose!

This past week the PTO treated the staff to a delicious Staff Appreciation Lunch!  The food was delicious, the ambiance was relaxed, and we were all very appreciative.  The PTO sponsored chair massages were also a big hit!  Thanks to the chefs, the families that helped to set up and clean up, and especially to Jaime Donta for leading the charge.

The classrooms have been very busy with end of year wrap up.  The 6th graders who are moving on to Middle School have been especially busy working on their Portfolio Presentations and Graduation Ceremony.  For those of you who don't know, the 6th Grade Portfolio Presentations are a long-standing tradition at SES where 6th graders compile visuals and write speeches about themselves!  They discuss their academics, their interests, their memories and their futures in front of a panel of community members who then ask questions and make comments.  It is a very special tradition and the entire community is invited to come and watch.  The students will be presenting today in the Music Room!  Another special tradition, the 6th Grade Graduation, will be held on Friday, June 16 at 6:30pm.

Looking ahead at the last 2 weeks of school we have field trips for 3rd, 4th and 6th grades, the Book Swap, and Field Day!  See the Dates to Remember section and attached flyers for more details!  Have a great weekend!

Jackie

***SCHOOL NEWS***

Dear Shutesbury Families,

Thank you for accepting me into your community this year. The experience of teaching your children has been an immense gift to me as an educator, a musician, and their fellow human being. I'm deeply thankful to the whole Shutesbury family for being so supportive, enthusiastic, and welcoming.

I hope you all have an amazing summer, full of adventure, joy, and maybe even some rest. I’ll be working as Assistant Director at Camp Fowler this June-August, breathing the mountain air and listening to the laughter of 800+ campers. With your permission, I’m happy to be postcard pals with any of your fantastic youngsters. If students would like to write me a letter, they can get it to Ms. Mendonsa during the last couple weeks of school, or you can email me to get my summer address.

Happy June and thank you all again, so very much. It’s been a blessing and a privilege.

Sincerely,

Becca Flinker
