March 31, 2107

Dear Moose,

Well, March is not 'going out like a lamb'! Let's hope that mild temperatures, and budding flowers and trees will greet us in April.

Next week, we will be having family conferences at SES. Teachers have been in communication regarding sign-ups and times. We look forward to this time to meet with families and discuss students’ progress. If you have not arranged a time with your child's teacher, please do so.

We also begin MCAS testing next week. We keep the pressure and stress of testing very low. Students are encouraged to get a good night's sleep and have a healthy breakfast. We then ask that they try their best on the test. Families bring in healthy snacks and students are able to eat a special treat on testing days. Often, they get more time to play outside as well. The MCAS dates are listed again in this week's RTN for your review. If you have a student testing and you have not signed up to donate a healthy snack on a testing day, please consider doing this. We appreciate your support in this endeavor.

On April 6th, the 3rd and 4th graders will be attending the Pioneer Valley Symphony at Greenfield High School. Thank you to Mr. Peele for setting this experience up for our students.

A special thank you to our PE teacher, Mr. Carra for planning and supervising the Invasion Games Club for the past 2 months. The students really loved the experience. Another special thank you to Ms. Becca for supervising the SES Drama Club that meets on Thursdays and will produce a musical in June! We are lucky for teachers that donate their time and energy to providing special experiences for our students!

See you in April,

Jackie

JCB:  What is your favorite thing to do at home?
SB:  I like to read and crochet.

JCB:  What are you reading right now?
SB:  I’m reading Moon Over Manifest.

JCB:  What is your favorite place in the world?
SB:  My favorite place in the world might be outside in my garden or yard.

JCB:  What would you like to be when you grow up?
SB:  I want to be a scientist.

JCB:  If you were President what would you do first?
SB:  I wouldn’t really want to be President because if you were President you would have a lot of responsibilities and you seem really busy and I don’t really want to do that.
